Darrien spicak

Darrien Spicak (b. 1995) is a music educator, performer, and composer who is currently the General Music Education teacher at Star International Academy in Canton, MI. He currently holds a Master’s Degree in Percussion Performance from Texas Christian University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Michigan State University.

In the marching arts, Darrien performed with the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps and the Matrix World Percussion Ensemble. From 2019 - 2022, Darrien served as a bass drum instructor for the Legends Drum and Bugle Corps which received the high percussion award at the 2019 DCI Open Class Championships. In 2024, Darrien returned to Matrix Performing Arts to serve as a bass technician for the Open Ensemble. Now in 2026, Darrien serves as a "flex-tech" for World ensemble, instructing the members of the battery and front ensemble.
